When you donate to the museum, you become part of the history of the Cognacq-Jay museum, an institution which would never have existed without the passionate patronage of the arts from Ernest Cognacq and Marie-Louise Jay.
Every contribution is precious, and plays a key role in:
- Supporting exhibitions
- Contributing to the acquisition and restoration of artworks
- Restoring and promoting Paris’ architectural heritage
- Sustaining our ambitious policy of keeping the museum open and accessible to all, free of charge
Companies and foundations
Your contribution can take the form of a cash donation or a donation in kind. Donors are entitled to a range of exclusive, personalised rewards: your company name linked prominently with the museum, hosting of prestigious receptions, invitations to special events and tours (visit the archives and the collections, advance private views of exhibitions etc.).
The tax benefits associated with patronage of the arts in France allow you to deduct 60% of the total value of your donations from your corporation tax bill, up to a maximum threshold of 0.5% of your pre-tax turnover (any excess can be spread over the following five years if you exceed this threshold, or if a donation is made in a year of negative profits).
Any contribution in appreciation of the Cognacq-Jay museum, however modest, is always valuable.
Giving a cash gift entitles you to a tax credit equivalent to 66% of your donation, up to a maximum of 20% of your taxable income (if this threshold is exceeded the difference may be spread over the next 5 years).
The Museums of the City of Paris also accept donations and inheritances, and can be named as whole or partial beneficiaries of life insurance contracts.
